Former ACA lightweight champion and No. 1-ranked fighter in the ACA pound-for-pound rankings Abdul-Aziz Abdulvakhabov shared his thoughts on his upcoming fight against Gleison Tibau. The bout will take place on October 4 at ACA 208 in Grozny and will mark Abdulvakhabov’s welterweight debut.
“Gleison Tibau is a very good, experienced and powerful fighter. Despite his age, he is constantly training and always stays in shape, which makes him very dangerous.
This will be my first fight at welterweight. I’ll only have to cut about three to five kilograms, while he probably starts his cut from around 95 kilograms. Tibau is a very big and powerful fighter. I think this will be a tough test for me. We’ll see, ” Abdulvakhabov said.
Abdulvakhabov vs. Tibau will serve as the co-main event of ACA 208. In the main event, reigning ACA lightweight champion Daud Shaikhaev will defend his title against Bibert Tumenov.
