Alikhan Vakhaev: “Aliakbari Was Just Surviving in His Last Two Fights”

ACA heavyweight champion Alikhan Vakhaev spoke about his upcoming opponent Amir Aliakbari and shared his expectations for their title fight.

Vakhaev commented on the Iranian fighter’s recent performances and responded to Aliakbari’s statements ahead of their showdown.

“Over his last two fights, he was knocked down three or four times. Before talking about my fights, he should take a look at his own. Let’s put it this way: in his last two fights, he was just surviving.

He beat two former champions, but those two champions are already, as they say, past their prime. I don’t remember either of them winning any fights recently.

As for the fight itself, maybe I’ll try to finish him. Maybe I’ll pressure him against the cage, maybe I’ll take him down in the center. We’re not going to reveal everything right now. Let him expect me to pressure him. Maybe I’ll have a different game plan.

I’ll be looking to finish him. It doesn’t matter whether it’s on the feet or on the ground. I don’t wish him anything bad, he’s just an opponent. But on fight day, I’m going to hit him in the face as hard as I possibly can, ” Vakhaev said.

The heavyweight title fight between Alikhan Vakhaev and Amir Aliakbari will take place on August 15 in Moscow and will headline ACA 205.
