Although I said that I wanted to fight with foreigners, but it does not mean that I want to fight with easy opponents. It does not matter if it’s a debut or not, I’ve only said I wanted to earn a fight for the belt instead of fighting for it right away. As for Albert Duraev as an opponent – he is a very strong and determined person.
He has already proved himself in the ACB league as an uncompromising fighter who is equally good in stand-up and on the ground, and who is also able to fight in long exhausting bouts. Therefore, the fight with him is undoubtedly interesting to me. I repeat that I am only interested in tough and strong opponents.
Besides, I believe that, one way or another, he is the reigning champion of the League, albeit in a category below. As for Albert’s physique, I want to say that he would not be lost in the light heavyweight division too, so I will not have any advantage in size. I think that he is very big even for the middle weight. And in conclusion I want to say thank you to Albert because even though he challenged me, but he did it in the most tactful and intelligent way.
He said he wanted to welcome me in the league and he did not try to throw big words and insult me. It describes him as an intelligent fighter. I always favor such way of communication, without any aggression. We are friendly with him, when we met with Albert we always have a nice talk, and if he had made the call in a rude manner, it would have looked very feigned from the side. And he said everything on point – that I am a strong fighter and that he is interested in a bout with me. Therefore, even if our fight will take place, I am sure it will not spoil our nice relationship.
