Georgi Karakhanyan: I came to Russia again, and I really love the country. I feel home here

#9 ranked featherweight Georgi Karakhanyan came to Moscow to compete at ACBJJ 14 against Mukhammed Kokov. He has spoken about the upcoming jiu-jitsu match and his MMA fight against Saifullah Dzabrailov which is set to go down at ACB 90 and more.

- You’re scheduled to face Mukhammed Kokov in a grappling match at ACBJJ 14. Give us your thoughts on the match and are you interested in fighting him in MMA?

It will be a great match. He’s a good grappler. I’ve seen his fight against Machaev, it was cool. It’s just a grappling match for me. I’ve trained really hard for this one, even though my opponent has changed multiple times. Initially I was scheduled to fight Yusuf, but he pulled out an I got a new opponent in Mukhammed. I think we’ll show a great match, I’m 100% ready.

And when it comes to the possible MMA fight against him, I didn’t even think about it. I have a fight on July 28th and that’s my only focus. Then I want to fight for the title.

- As you just said, you have a fight on July 28th. Give us your thoughts on your opponent, Sayfullah Dzabrailov?

All ACB fighters are good. Both in featherweight and in the lightweight division. So I think we’ll show a great fight with Sayfullah. I’ve seen all of his fights. He’s a good guy and a strong fighter.

- You will compete in Moscow and then in Kazan. How do you like it in Russia?

I’ve never been to Kazan, it’ll be my first time. I have a lot of my childhood friends with me now. They’re always come to support me in my fights. I’ve showed Moscow to Diego Sanchez because he has never been in Russia before. So we’re having a great time.
