Jake Brutal Bostwick: "Bombs will be thrown and fireworks will go off!"

B: You debuted for ACB at ACB Glasgow in October, you got a highlight reel knockout against a very tough opponent. How happy were you with your performance?

J: I was very happy. Happy I got to put all of my training and hard work on show. I didn’t force the KO, I waited for the opportunity and when the gap opened up I took it. I think getting a big finish over a top fighter and a UFC veteran really made a statement of what fans and fighters can expect from me. When my hands land clean no one can take them.

B: You’ve made the move to America to train out at American Top Team full time now – What sort of difference has that made to your training camos?

J: It’s made all the difference. I train full time now and here at ATT we have amazing facilities and top training partners that I get to test myself day in and day out with. The quality of training is unreal and my game is coming on leaps and bounds in all areas.

B: You mention training in all areas – we know that your striking is at an elite level so have you put particular emphasis on your grappling and wrestling now?

J: I’m working my wrestling, grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu along with my striking. There’s always something I can be improving on with little tweaks and adjustments plus I’m here on the mats at ATT everyday training with some of the best fighters in the world so I’m always learning and improving. For this fight though I want to work my hands but just go with the flow of the fight.

B: And what do you know about your opponent?

J: I know he has big hands and looks physically strong but other than that I can’t see anything else I really need to be worried about.

B: You’ve signed a multi-fight deal with ACB, What are your thoughts on joining the promotion?

J: It’s a big show, 3rd biggest in the world I think and it’s lovely to be a part of that. It’s a privilege and an honor to be part of the company and I hope to put on a good show and some good fights for them and the ACB fans.

B: In terms of being on the big show your next fight is signed for December 18th at ACB 50, this will be by far the promotions biggest ever show with 4 title fights and some huge names on the card – what does it mean to be part of this show in particular?

J: Again, it’s an honor. It’s their biggest show yet and I get to be a part of that and go down in history by having an absolute war on their biggest ever event. The London boy is coming to Russia!

B: Have you ever been to Russia?

J: No, and it’s something I’m really looking forward to experiencing – I know it’s cold!! I’ve been in the sun in shorts and flip flops for the last 2 months so that will be a shock but I really am looking forward to it!

B: Do you have a message for the Russain fans who will see Jake ‘Brutal’ Bostwick for the first time at ACB 50?

J: Don’t blink and don’t miss it! This will be one hell of a fight. Bombs will be thrown and fireworks will go off!

Jake Bostwick will face Aleksei Butorin on December 18th at ACB 50 tournament
